Tell those annoying fundamentalists where they can stick their assault on civil rights! Ban it for them!

Just saw this clip from CNN, its the intro to a newsstory about how McCain doesn't, or didn't anyway, support Bush on the marriage ban in 2004. 'Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona broke forcefully with President Bush and the Senate GOP leadership Tuesday evening over the issue of same-sex marriage, taking to the Senate floor to call a constitutional amendment that would effectively ban the practice unnecessary -- and un-Republican.'

The American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Psychological Association, the World Health Organization, the American Counseling Association, the National Association of Social Workers, the Council on Child and Adolescent Health, the American Academy of Pediatrics and even the health ministries in Russia and China say homosexuality is not a mental disorder, isn't a choice, can't be changed and trying to change it is harmful.

I completely agree - I was actually saying that it's the lack of acceptance of homosexuality, causing people to repress their normal homosexual development, that often results in adult men being attracted to teenagers. (And extreme socialphobia can cause the same in heterosexuals) I think when homosexuality is truly embraced it cuts out a lot of that because people are more likely to develop normally psychosexually and socially.

I always enjoy listening to conservatives explain why they oppose gay marriage. Given the seriousness with which they take the issue, and their campaign for a constitutional amendment, you'd think they would have come up with some compelling reasons by now. Ban Republican Marriage, yes, let's do it, love the bumper sticker and magnet.

Can you show me where in the Constitution it says we are allowed to discriminate against gay people because of their sexual orientation? No, so let em marry!

It has nothing to do with being liberal or conservative...It's about civil rights for all and gays should be allowed to get married. period.

Ban Republican Marriage, I love it, just picked it up as a magnet and can't wait to put it on my car. Thanks.

Individuals who dismiss gay rights as not being as important as other issues are sadly ignorant. If it were not for others passion for equal human rights, blacks and women would not be able to vote, own property, etc. Gay rights are HUMAN rights. Gays pursuit of happiness is just as important as anothers. Denying this basic human right breaks my heart.

Dennis Kucinich! He's the ONLY candidate? that is demanding absolute marriage Equality. Period. Let's get out the support for him!

I work in schools. I'm not gay. And I have no idea what they're talking about when they say the gay agenda is forced in schools. Gay people no more want to have "what they do in their bedrooms" taught in school than do heterosexual people. What most thinking people want taught is a basic respect for people and our differences. It's not about sex and bedrooms; it's about respecting ALL people. And it seems that we who engage in heterosexual acts are doing a heck of a lot more of "forcing our agenda" on society than anyone else.
