I heard/understand that universal healthcare is necessary because of the population explosion (both in immigrants coming to the US and in seniors, as well as the poor in the US). Too much of this need for care (whether it be food, housing or healthcare) can bring in unsavory groups from other countries to turn Americans to their way of thinking. To avoid that we must provide for our own people. There is a second reason and that it's America is strong and "should" provide for their own people anyway. I support the goals of this sticker.  But i favor universal healthcare. we are the richest country in the world and should be able to provide healthcare to everybody. its a national embarrassment that other industrialized countries can provide it but we cant. i dont believe in socialistic economies or government programs. but health is different. health is not something that should be bought and sold. kind of like air, or sunshine. the fact that we americans pay outrageous taxes and are not provided healthcare is a disgrace. we should not be wasting our money overseas funding dictatorships and supporting 700 military bases around the world.. Thank you Press for Progress for making stickers and magnets addressing this issue. ...it is what they have in Canada and England. I want it simply because I think everyone deserves health care. You can say, "Well I don't want to pay for other people, I've worked all my life and this money is MINE!" Well, people said that hundreds of years ago about education, and now it is reasonably accepted that everyone deserves the right to a public education. Why not public health care? Also, poor children, it's not their fault. Should they get sick and possibly die just because their parents don't make enough money? America has one of the worst health care systems and insurance coverage in the world. I have a job that offers health insurance coverage, but it is too expensive for me to afford! Everyone has the right to health coverage. Just bought this bumper sticker and as a magnet, can't wait to display, thanks! Thanks for the decal, fantastic slogan. Universal healthcare is not socialized medicine. Universal healthcare means everyone has insurance. Socialized medicine means the government runs the healthcare industry. Healthcare not Warfare! Woohooo greaaaat slogan! Other first world nations have realized the long-term benefits of providing preventive medicine to their citizens, as well as the moral imperative to care for their citizens. Unfortunately, the US government likes to discuss morality, but we don't like to be questioned about the details of how we implement justice for our own people. WProtecting the health of citizens is the same as protecting your house from fires or robberies. It is a free service. Obviously the current system is flawed. The insurance companies just love to turn people down, even tho we are paying them every month. I believe it should be my doctors choice if i need medical work done, not some doc employed by the insurance company. We re so far down on the list of countries for best health care its unreal. Its time for america to wake up and join the rest of the world. . |
